In this training, we cover how to maintain confidentiality in the context of child welfare involvement and family time. You will learn what confidentiality means, why it is critical, and how to protect families’ private information. The training also reviews your legal and ethical responsibilities, exceptions to confidentiality, and practical strategies for handling common challenges.
Parental Substance Use and Family Time
This training focuses on substance use in the context of child welfare and family time. It shares strategies for managing substance abuse concerns during family time. It is designed for family time providers to ensure that family time remains a safe and positive experience for children affected by parental substance use.
Understanding Family Dynamics
In this course, you will deepen your understanding of how family dynamics can impact interactions during family time. You will be able to recognize the signs that these dynamics may be affecting young children. Through practical strategies and real-life scenarios, you will learn how to respond effectively to challenging family dynamics and to support healthy parent-child interactions.
Understanding Grief and Loss in Child Welfare
This course covers the different types of grief and loss that children, parents, and caregivers often experience within the child welfare system. You will explore how grief can impact emotions, behaviors, and family interactions during family time, and you will gain trauma-informed strategies to help you support children and families as they navigate grief and loss during family time.
